Do we take insurance?
Plus Icon

We are a proud member of The Lactation Network (TLN) and Wildflower, non-profits that advocate for breastfeeding mothers to receive the services they are entitled to per ACA regulations. Wildflower works with Cigna insurance plans, while TLN works with most other major insurance companies to provide mothers up to 6 FREE lactation consultations. To find out if your insurance plan is covered, click the appropriate link for your insurance carrier above and follow the respective process!

If your insurance is not covered, don't fret! With every visit, we supply a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for full reimbursement. More information about superbills and your rights to breastfeeding help is explained below.

What happens in a consultation?
Plus Icon

In an initial consultation, we spend up to 90 minutes discussing your medical history, breastfeeding concerns, and your breastfeeding goals to help develop a feeding plan that will suit you and your baby the best. We address how you have gotten to the point where you reached out for our help, and what a successful outcome looks like to you. From there, we work together to come up with a series of solutions that work for you and your baby.

After our initial consultation, we meet either virtually or in person as needed. We offer varying appointment options depending on the topic you would like to address.

How much are consultations and what payments do we accept?
Plus Icon

Our consultations span a variety of topics and are offered in a few methods. They range from $60-$250. We will bill through The Lactation Network or Wildflower directly if you are pre-approved or at the time of your visit. You can always contact us to further discuss the best option for you!

In an effort to streamline payments, we accept credit card, debit card, cash, or check for every appointment at the completion of the consultation.  Receipts are supplied electronically for every consultation.

What is a superbill and how do I submit it to my insurance company?
Plus Icon

Did you know under the Affordable Care Act insurance companies are required to cover lactation consultations? We provide an itemized document called a superbill that outlines what we did as part of your consultation that you submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

The National Women's Law Center has great resources and step by step instructions in aiding you in receiving a reimbursement for your visit. They even offer a letter template which only requires you to fill in your specific insurance and personal information! This makes it quick and easy for you to appeal to your insurance company.

Can I contact you after my consultation?
Plus Icon

Through your patient portal, we have a few ways to contact us in relation to your consultation. We are always happy to help answer questions and discuss the details of topics covered in consultations! However, baby behaviors are ever changing, and only by seeing you and your little one can we ensure we are giving proper instruction. For this reason, if there is a new topic to cover, we do require a follow up consultation to ensure we providing the proper solutions for your breastfeeding needs.
