Honeysuckle Lactation Consultants was founded in 2023 with a mission to provide personalized care for mothers and their babies during their breastfeeding journey. Honeysuckle Lactation Consultants was built to offer professional, personalized, and judgment-free care that focuses on what is best mom and baby.
Our goal us to close the gap between postpartum lactation care and the needs of mothers after being discharged from the hospital. Our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) recognized that mothers face many questions, worries, and changes as their baby ages and believed that a resource that could assist them would be invaluable. Thus, Honeysuckle Lactation was born!
Sam Vitabile is the owner and founder of Honeysuckle Lactation Consultants. As a Registered Nurse with a BSN degree, Sam began her career in the mother-baby unit of a small community hospital in southeastern Pennsylvania. In 2020, she relocated to a well-renowned unit in the Greater Raleigh area in North Carolina!
It was through her inpatient care roles that she developed a passion for providing individualized care for new mothers to aid them in developing a special bond with their baby through breastfeeding. Because of this, Sam decided to earn her certification in breast feeding, and became an IBCLC.
Over her years as a lactation consultant, Sam has served hundreds of families in their breastfeeding journey. She created Honeysuckle to provide access to caring yet professional support to moms throughout all phases of breastfeeding!
Christina began her career as a Registered Nurse with her BSN in 2010 and has been working with moms and babies for over 10 years! Throughout her career, she has cared for families as a Postpartum and a Neonatal ICU Nurse, a Prenatal Breastfeeding Educator, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and now an IBCLC.
Currently, Christina teaches prenatal breastfeeding classes, provides inpatient lactation consultations, and leads an outpatient breastfeeding support group through a local hospital. She also serves on the planning committee for a local lactation conference.
Christina is married to Johnathan and has two daughters. Her passion for supporting breastfeeding mothers stems from having personal struggles with feeding both of her own children. From triple feeding to tongue ties and pumping to mastitis, she has gone through it all. She also deeply understands the internal struggles and guilt that many women often feel. Ultimately, Christina’s goal is to support other moms in their lactation journey while also prioritizing their physical and mental wellbeing.
